British painter Nigel Cooke commissioned us to create a digital archive of his output. The works are categorised chronologically, through exhibition, to illustrate how the work is grouped and shown. As the paintings are rich in texture and detail all artworks are available to view in immersive high resolution. The system we created allows the artist’s studio to catalogue artworks under multiple criteria, the user can then search using these criteria to view alternative chronologies and recurring themes. To further contextualise Cooke’s practice videos are featured and essays are presented and made available for download.

New York based photographer Bjorn Iooss commissioned YES to create an identity and site that complimented his aesthetic and reflected the diversity of his image‑making. Each section utilises a customisable layout that allows both variation in emphasis and individual groupings to be applied to the sequences. Our target was to allow the viewer to very quickly gain an understanding of Bjorn’s work. That objective continued into the diary section where the ephemeral imagery is seen as a continuous stream rather than individual works.

M.A.P are a creative management agency, representing the top tier of fashion photographers and styling talent worldwide. Commissioned by founder Julie Brown, YES proposed a complete overhaul of visual communication both digitally and in print. We developed a typographic identity based around a strong graphic contrasts — between the bold company letterforms and the more delicate supporting typography. A key aspect of our approach for the website was to emphasise the high‑quality news output that was previously published on a separate platform. We repositioned the news to become the primary page of the site giving an immediate and dynamic overview of recent activity in the agency.

Quinn Architects are a London‑based practice working on commissions in both the UK and US. Working closely with the Quinn team we completed a total overhaul of their visual communication. The primary challenge of the website redevelopment was how to best present the diverse range of content related to each project. We created a flexible layout system that allowed the team to build varied narratives highlighting the individual aspects of each project. Through this system Quinn are able to emphasise certain projects that best communicate their process‑based approach. We also developed a hardware accelerated WebGL model viewer to allow users to explore 3D architectural models from within the site.

Book Works is an art publisher with an output spanning over 25 years. We were asked to rethink their online presence to accurately reflect the organisations current activities and enable the purchase of books through the site. The project took the form of a deep archive of searchable content, covering publications, events, resources and exhibitions. We flipped the convention of a vertically scrolling site in order to create an almost infinite horizontal page, allowing books and other material to be presented in a systematic, visually consistent manner.

Photographer Jenny van Sommers commissioned YES to create an identity and site that was clean, super‑minimal and reflected the pristine quality of her images. We developed a bespoke typeface that would be used across stationery and screen. The site was simply divided into three categories reflecting her output. Each section overview is realised as a dynamic, asymmetric layout that allows emphasis of key projects. We created tools within the YES CMS to allow Jenny’s studio to create new layouts to best suit any recently added work.

Website design and development for fashion photographer, and YES associate, Gemma Booth. Working closely with Gemma we set out on the creative process with the core ideas of creating a super‑minimal interface, while also reflecting the playful spirit of Gemma's work. We allowed the images to appear without any text visible, and to dynamically scale for different sized screens. A flexible typographic identity was designed, allowing the site to evolve as new content is added. Each time the site is viewed a alternate typographic treatment is revealed to the viewer, keeping the site fresh and dynamic.

British artist Dan Holdsworth comissioned us create a rich, dynamic site that reflected his art practice. We designed a system that is archival in both it's image and text content. All major series form a project index, the viewer can then navigate through to individual images — presented in large format to reveal the detail and subtly within the work. Current and past exhibitions are documented, in addition to the presentation of essays published elsewhere.
